KUCHING: It is that time of the year again when Malaysians submit their income tax returns to the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN), carefully tracking their income and expenses to fulfil their financial obligation.
According to LHDN, tax payers can submit their tax return form for the Year of Assessment 2023 through e-Filing starting March 1 to May 15 or manually before May 15 for their employment income.
The New Sarawak Tribune has asked individuals if they have or have yet to fill out their e-filing report during this very hectic time of the year.

I’m excited to get my tax refund after completing my e-filing. The technology is very easy to use and convenient, which makes the e-filing process quite simple. Furthermore, thanks to e-filing, I can file my taxes online without having to physically visit the LHDN office. Furthermore, I think it’s crucial for Malaysians who are able to pay their taxes to do so since it helps our nation.

I understand that it is our collective duty to contribute to the country, so I have paid my taxes. If we don’t pay our taxes, we will be denying our responsibilities as a Malaysian. Thank goodness, it’s easily accessible online these days. By paying our taxes, we enable our government to distribute revenue fairly and assist those among us who are less fortunate in Malaysia. In the end, the taxes we pay help all of us since they are reinvested in the populace through infrastructure improvements, subsidies, and other benefits.

Since I’ve been filing my taxes for a few years, I can honestly say that the process is simple. These days, everything can be completed online, and e-forms can be submitted whenever and wherever is convenient. To put it another way, I believe the method is really plain and easy to understand, which makes it pretty simple overall. In addition, I filed as soon as LHDN announced that e-filing would start to prevent forgetting to do my taxes later.

Because everything is accessible through the Internet, the system is easy to use and saves taxpayers’ time. The correct tax computation and the guarantee that our taxes have been safely declared are the additional aspects of online e-filing that I find appealing. Additionally, I expect that this will result in a rise in the number of taxpayers because e-filing has made things easier for people.
