MATU: A total of 1078 participants took part in the Daro District Education Office (PPD) Je’Ulo Run 2.0,held in conjunction with the National Day celebration.

Igan MP Ahmad Johnie Zawawi in his officiating speech for the event, expressed pride and admiration for the commitment and dedication shown by the organisers, namely the Daro PPD, in successfully hosting the event.

“This morning’s programme is not only aimed at fostering sportsmanship and promoting a healthy lifestyle among the community but also at strengthening the bonds of friendship among us, in line with the significant date of National Day today, to cultivate a spirit of patriotism, unity, and camaraderie among Malaysians,” he said.

He also hoped that the awareness of the importance of health and fitness will continue to grow among all parties and that what has been demonstrated today will be sustained in daily life and in the days to come.

“I will always fully support initiatives and programmes aimed at enhancing the well-being of the people,” he added.

Meanwhile, Daro District Education Officer Mohd Yusri Abdullah said the programme held at the Kampung Tian Community Hall received an overwhelming response, not only from participants in the Matu and Daro districts but also from surrounding areas such as Dalat, Mukah, Sibu, Bintulu and other districts.

“Thank you for support and encouragement from those involved in motivating the public, especially the youth, to participate in this event.

“Our Daro PPD will always support any beneficial activities like this,” he said.
