MUKAH: Suhaili Aleh has been appointed as the new 10th director of Mukah Polytechnic (PMU), effective June 28 this year.
According to a PMU statement, he replaces Hisamudin Mohd Tmin, who is transferred to the headquarters on January 2.
“Previously, Suhaili held the position of director of METRO Betong Polytechnic, from July 13, 2019 until June 27, 2024.
“He has extensive experience in the field of education and has served as an instructor at Vocational and Technical Schools in Sarawak before taking on the role of lecturer at PMU.
“In 2007, he moved to PMU as a regular lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering,” the statement said.
Having served for 12 years at PMU, Suhaili also previously held the position of Head of Department in the Department of Civil Engineering.
Later, he was appointed as deputy director (Academic Support) and finally as principal lecturer (PL) before moving to METRO Betong Polytechnic in 2019.
His current transfer is likened to the proverb ‘Returning to One’s Roots’ as a key leader at PMU.
Meanwhile, he was welcomed upon arrival at PMU by deputy director (Academic Support) Sophian Sout, department heads, and unit heads, followed by an introductory meeting in the PMU Conference Room.
After the event, Suhaili attended a ceremony to present appointment letters to seven new department heads who were appointed as principal lecturers.
He also held a meeting and introduction session with 24 PLs appointed at the PU Officer Promotion Institution.
