MUKAH: Supermarkets here have adhered to the social distancing rule without fail during the extended movement control order (MCO).

A check by New Sarawak Tribune yesterday found that customers were asked to queue up and maintain social distancing of about 1 metre.

In one supermarket, only one member from a family was allowed to enter the premises to shop for essential items.

There was also a limit of 30 customers in the premises at any one time.

The queue was not long, perhaps partly due to other stores not requiring customers to line up.

Generally, the crowd at the popular supermarkets here were comparatively fewer during the MCO, which began from March 18 to 31 and extended from April 1 to 14.
