KUCHING: The “SuperMum” movie encourages all races in Sarawak to come and enjoy the movie, said Kuching Chung Hua Primary School No. 1-6 Committee of Management president Wong Tiong Hock.

He explained that the movie depicts what a mother has to go through in handling family issues and also to remember the late Datuk Lai Meng, also known as “Auntie Lai Meng”.

“I extend my upmost gratitude to Golden Screen Cinema (GSC) in CityONE Megamall for being able to screen this movie in theatres during this festive season,” he said in a press conference today here at The Mandarin Restaurant, iCom Square.

The movie will premiere this coming Saturday at GSC, CityONE at 6.30pm and the movie’s cast members are expected to attend.

According to GSC’s website, the movie features an old woman as the protagonist, who had an accident that resulted in her fall due to her old age. This caused her children to begin feuding with another for the family’s fortune. While some are pressured due to their living environment, others just hope to live a simple life.

After a series of events however, the siblings choose to hurt one another and ignore the importance of being a family. In the end, with the help of the protagonist’s teachings and her unyielding faith in family principles, the ending of the story changed for the better.

The late Auntie Lai Meng’s message to the public was, “The movie is not my biography, nor a story about me. However, the message I wish to express is conveyed in the film which is to be respectful towards your parents and always be grateful for the people who care about you.
