SIBU: Sarawak United People’s Party ( SUPP ) contributed RM10,000 to Rumah Philip Kayak during a visit by the party’s delegation to the longhouse last Saturday.

The visitors comprised SUPP Central Committee treasurer Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing, SUPP Dudong chairman Datuk Dr Soon Choon Teck, SUPP Bukit Assek chairman Chieng Buong Toon and three SUPP potential candidates for Lanang parliamentary seat, namely Kelvin Kong, Joseph Chieng and Wong Ching Yong.

The three potential Lanang candidates have been working together to help longhouse folks in the constituency. In his speech at the longhouse, Kelvin Kong said that the fund provided was for the repair of a wooden pedetrian walk for school children to reach a nearby primary school as well as for the repair of the longhouse’s staircase and the main bridge to the longhouse.

Meanwhile, Ding, who is also Meradong State Assemblyman, announced a Minor Rural Project (MRP) of RM5,000 for the longhouse’s Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK).
