KUCHING: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP), Kuching Branch will continue to distribute food supplies to the needy and ferry senior citizens to vaccination centres during the ongoing pandemic.

“On June 23, we provided food assistance to residents of KMC Flats and we will continue to help out in future,” Kuching SUPP said in a statement.

“We also urged the Sarawak government to use its reserve funds to assist the underprivileged and provide subsidies to small and medium enterprises.

“In addition, the compounds (issued for standard operating procedure violations) should lean towards educating (people) rather than punishing (them) as this would simply add to the people’s suffering.

“We also hope that Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) would develop a post-pandemic plan to revive the economy as soon as possible.”

Meanwhile, Kuching SUPP advised its members to work together to win the Padungan constituency in the coming Sarawak election.

“We would like to underline that, in the past, it has always been the responsibility of the respective branches to propose their candidates.
