SUPP Senadin donates 80 mattresses to quarantine centre

MIRI: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party Senadin branch on Sunday lent a helping hand by contributing 80 mattresses including pillows to Miri Hospital’s Covid-19 quarantine and treatment centre (PKRC).

The facility (Miri Hospital’s PKRC) has been used to treat Covid-19 patients from Miri division (Subis, Telang Usan, Marudi and Beluru).

There are about 700 Covid-19 patients being treated at the PKRC.

The PKRC’s full capacity is able to accommodate up to 800 patients.

According to Minister of Transport Sarawak Datuk Lee Kim Shin who is also minister in-charged of Miri Division Disaster Management Committee (MDDMC), following to the surge of Covid-19 positives cases, MDDMC rented a premise to be converted into PKRC to accommodate Covid-19 patients.

Earlier, Lee handed over 80 mattresses to Miri Hospital’s director Dr Jack Wong in a simple ceremony.

Overall, there are 1,100 patients recorded from Miri Hospital’s PKRC and the newly rented building.

Today, ongoing vaccination for high-risk group for Covid-19 vaccine carried out at Miri Hospital. Datuk Lee Kim Shin (right) also visited and talked to recipients after their vaccination.
