KUCHING: Sarawakians have been urged to reject all Malayan political parties including PPBM from coming into Sarawak so as to prevent another colonisation by Malaya.
In a press statement issued here yesterday in response to the news on the setting up of PPBM’s first branch in the State, SUPP Youth Central Chairman Michael Tiang said that although there was no law to stop Malayan parties from coming over to the State, allowing the parties into Sarawak would be viewed as a first step for Malaya to further colonised the State.
He acknowledged that a Malayan political party would also be able to serve Sarawakians in various issues.
“But when it comes to issues on Sarawak’s sovereignty, a Malayan political party will always choose to be on Malayan’s side and only listen to the orders from their headquarters in the Peninsula. This is always the case,” said Tiang.
He welcomed Sarawakians to serve in politics by forming new local based political parties or joining any existing local based parties.
“But by bringing a Malayan political party into Sarawak that is aiming to govern the State is a bad notion altogether.
“Imagine that, how would a Sarawak Government tightly-controlled by Malayan political parties ever be interested or allow any agenda for Sarawak’s sovereignty?
“If our Sarawak Government is a government taking only orders from the Peninsula, this is what we understand as colonization,” said Tiang.
He also pointed out that when the component parties of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) were part of Barisan Nasional, their stand was strictly no Malayan member party should enter into Sarawak to establish branches.
“Very disappointed with the fact that there was no one from Pakatan Harapan Sarawak who dare to deny PPBM from coming into the State to set up a branch.
“Perhaps, this is another blatant example whereby for one to be part of a Malayan political party, you are meant to be serbservient to the masters in the Peninsula,” said Tiang.
