KUCHING: The State Legislative Assembly (DUN) has passed the Supplementary Supply (2021) Bill, 2022 amounting additional expenditure of RM478,843,946 million on the third meeting of First Session of the 19th State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Sitting today.

The Bill’s, the Second Supplementary Estimates of Ordinary Expenditure, 2021 was tabled by Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, who is also the Second Finance and New Economy.

“In the Bill’s, it required approval to meet the cost of various services incurred by various Ministries and Departments for which fund were not provided for or insufficiently provided for in the 2021 Estimates,” he said.

He added that there were 47 sub-activities and 68 sub-sub activities for which the additional provisions were required.

“The another bill which was the First Supplementary Estimates of Development Expenditure, 2021 also required for approval comprising an additional allocation of RM81,608,762.

According to Uggah, the amount required has been vired from savings among the subheads concerned or advance from Contingencies Reserves.

“The additional allocation is to meet the following Heads of Expenditure which are Land Infrastructure (RM30), Riverine Infrastructure (RM20), Government Buildings (RM10), Public Buildings (RM10), Public Utilities (RM20), Land Compensation and Residential Extension (RM90), Urban Development (RM2,960,010), Industrial Development (RM20), Rural Development (RM20), Local Authorities (RM20), Natural & Cultural Heritage (RM20), Public Finance (RM65,704,541), Planning and Development (RM50), Knowledge Society Development (RM12,185,015), Drainage and Irrigation (RM758,796), Forestry (RM10), Social Development (RM10), Social Welfare (RM30), Crop Agriculture (RM30), Agriculture Development (RM10), Women and Family Development (RM10) and Special Projects (RM10),” he mentioned.

The motion was seconded by Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian.
