PADAWAN: The people are urged to always support Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) state government in maintaining political stability in the state.
Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang reminded Sarawakians that GPS and the state government did not form any coalition with Barisan Nasional (BN), Pakatan Harapan (PH) nor Perikatan Nasional (PN).
“We are on our own — and yes, GPS does support PN, as Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg mentioned.
“Today, we can finally see Sarawakians appointed as ministers and deputy ministers in the federal Cabinet,” he told reporters after a handover ceremony of food aid at SJK (C) Chung Hua 10th Mile, on Sunday.
Lo who is also the chairman of Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), revealed that he recently spoke to the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri on a development proposal for one of the villages under Batu Kitang constituency.
“She (Nancy) supports the idea and proposed that it be included under the 12th Malaysia Plan. This shows that Datuk Seri Nancy takes care of Batu Kitang under Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB).”
Lo pointed out that the people of Sarawak must ensure that GPS under Abang Johari would continue to take care of Sarawak.
“We cannot depend on other parties from Malaya, as only Sarawakians can fight for Sarawak rights — from our oil and gas rights to Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63),” he said.
