MIRI: The public must continue to be vigilant and play their part in supporting the frontliners’ efforts in the fight against Covid-19, said Datuk Lee Kim Shin.
The Transport Minister urged the public to not take the standard operating procedures (SOPs) lightly as the current situation is still concerning.
“The state government under the leadership of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has taken several measures to handle the Covid-19 pandemic. With the provision of SOPs, the transmission of Covid-19 cases is effectively managed and curbed,” he said.
He said this during an appreciation ceremony for Covid-19 frontliners organised by the Congress of Unions of Employees in Public and Civil Services Malaysia (Cuepacs) Sarawak at Imperial Hotel Miri on Monday (Oct 26).
The Senadin assemblyman expressed his gratitude to the frontliners for their perseverance and dedication during this pandemic.
“They are our unsung heroes for their dedicated service despite feeling fatigued and tired as well as being away from their loved ones,” he added.
Lee also thanked Cuepacs Sarawak for organising the ceremony and presented certificates of appreciation to the relevant government agencies.
Among those present during the ceremony were Cuepacs Sarawak chairman Ahmad Malie and representatives of government agencies.
