KUCHING: The position of Sarawak Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) chief is now formally held by Superintendent Maria Rasid on Friday (June 5).
The handover ceremony between former chief Supt Mustafa Kamal Gani Abdullah and Supt Maria was witnessed by Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail at the Sarawak Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK).
Prior to this, Maria had previously served in the department as its deputy chief.
On the other hand, Kamal Gani who has served for more than three years as the State CCID chief, will be transferred to Pulau Pinang and serve as the chief of the same department with the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
Meanwhile, Aidi in his speech believed that both Kamal and Maria are capable of carrying out their responsibilities well and effectively.
“Among the successes of Sarawak CCID is achieving the highest charge rate for two consecutive years in 2018 and 2019,” he said.
