SIBU: State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar handed over a donation of RM10,000 to Surau Darul Jannah, Kampung Datu Baru here last night (Dec 14).
“The fund is to help the surau to conduct religious activities,” said Asfia when met by reporters after attending the ‘Ziarah Kasih’ programme at the surau.
Meanwhile, Surau Darul Jannah chairman Ali Supian Daud expressed his gratitude to Asfia for the donation.
Ali stressed that the surau serves not only as a place of prayer and a hub of various Islamic activities but also fosters community bonds and nurtures the youth.
“The fund will enable the surau to conduct diverse programmes, including motivational sessions and forums.
“Continuous activities and programmes will contribute to a vibrant and connected community,” he said.
Among those present were Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) deputy chairman Mohammed Abdullah Izkandar Roseley and councillor Raden Khairulzaman Raden Bustari.
