KUCHING: Peer pressure drove a 52-year-old drug peddler from Kpg Rukam, Jalan Lundu Biawak, to sell drugs for the last 7 months, he claimed.
Padawan police arrested the suspect in a house at Kampung Jaya Bakti, Matang at 6 pm on Sunday for peddling drugs, after receiving a tip off from members of the public.
The suspect was checked and police found a chocolate color bag on him and in the bag were two transparent plastic packets containing crystals like substances believed to be syabu. The drugs weight 5.81 grammes worth RM500.
The suspect was arrested under Section 39A (1) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952 which carries a maximum of three years or fine or both.
He is detained in Siburan police station.
