BAU: Narcotics police picked up a man for suspected possession and consumption of drugs during a raid at Kampung Skibang here.
Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said on Tuesday (Feb 10) the raiding party inspected a house at 4pm on Wednesday (Feb 9) and arrested the man who was resting in his room.
“The team inspected the suspect’s room and found one transparent packet on a table containing white crystalline powder believed to be methamphetamine,” he said.
The powder weighed 0.28 grams and it was estimated to worth RM30.
Police interrogated the 32-year-old suspect who confessed taking the substance “two or three days earlier”. The suspect claimed he received from a friend.
A urine test on the suspect confirmed positive.
The case is investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
