KUCHING: Sarawak lost again 1-3 in their President Cup’s match against Negeri Sembilan at Paroi Stadium on Monday.
This was the squad’s fifth loss of the season in their ninth match. So far the team have only won once and drew thrice.
According to President Cup chief coach Jalil Rambli, the host team scored the first goal in the early second minute.
“The midfield were not performing well and too slow to pass the ball to the strikers.
“In the second half, the team gave a better performance when two midfielders were brought in. Our players became more organised and helped the upfront a lot,” said Jalil. Sarawak’s solitary goal came from Amirul.
In the second half, Sarawak could have levelled the score to 2-2 but all the chances went to waste. Instead, it was Negeri Sembilan who blasted in the third goal to crush any comeback bid by Sarawak, added Jalil.
Sarawak will next play against PKNS at Miri Stadium on April 22 (Monday). For this season, the team are being led by Jalil Rambli together with Pengiran Bala as assistant coach and assisted by two coaching staff, Abu Bakar Amran and Jahar Nor.
