KUCHING: Sarawak C squad once again took all three points after making a comeback to edge Pahang 2-1 in match in the Youth Cup match at the State Stadium Petra Jaya on Wednesday.
The winning goals were scored by Zharif Yazin Nasruddin in the 72nd and 86th minutes through penalties.
Meanwhile, Mohd Faisal Abd Halim scored for the visitors in the early 4th minute.
Compliments should be given to the Safri Amit team, who overcame the stress of playing with ten players after Mohammad Adif Salleh was sent off for receiving a second yellow card in the 60th minute.
“The three points are very valuable to us. Well done to the players for winning this match,” said team manager Abang Suhordie Abang Zaini.
According to Abang Suhordie, despite playing with 10 men, it did not dampen the fighting spirit of his players.
“Undoubtedly, the players hard work and determination managed to make a comeback with their outstanding performance and I hope this will be maintained,” he said.
Sarawak squad ‘C now have seven points from three games so far, with two wins and a draw.
It is a very positive development for Sarawak youth team who previously had not been much of a success at the national level.
