KUCHING: Sarawak squad failed to win on the tour series to Sabah when the David Usop side suffered a 2-3 loss to Sabah squad at the Likas Stadium, Kota Kinabalu recently.
Sarawak’s two goals were scored by new import stars, Milos Raickovic and Mohd Sahil Suhaimi.
Sabah were ahead 2-1 in the first half before adding another goal in the second half.
One of Sabah’s goal was contributed by Matthew Roskam with a buzzing ball on his own.
It was the third defeat of the Sarawak squad following a 1-2
loss on the first match June 14) and a 1-6 defeat against the Sabah President’s Cup squad (June 16) despite the squad being reinforced by eight players from the senior team.
“However, there was an increase in the performance of the players, especially the two new import stars (Milos Raickoviv & Mohd Sahil Suhaimi),” said David.
Despite going winless in three friendly matches in Sabah, the squad managed to improve some weaknesses in the team.
The players will be on holiday on June 23 in conjunction with Aidilfitri and return to training on June 27.
