KUCHING: Sarawak secured two more victories in lawn bowls today, delivering outstanding performances in both the women’s singles and fours categories.
In the women’s singles, Dayang Nur Alia Sharmiela Abang Gadisa triumphed over Nurul Darwisya Zubir from Negeri Sembilan with a score of 21-15.
Meanwhile, the Sarawak women’s fours team, comprising Haspina Mazlan, Mya Zara Amir, Nur Hidayah Faizal, and Nur Syurhaidah Asaral, defeated the Federal Territories team with a score of 11-8.
Reflecting on her singles match, Dayang acknowledged that it was particularly challenging, especially towards the end.
“The competition was very tough because the balls rolled by Nurul Darwisya were always close to the jack, but I stayed focused and kept fighting,” she told reporters after the match at Sarawak Lawn Bowls Arena.
Looking ahead to her next match against Kelantan, Dayang Nur Alia is determined to perform even better.
“I need to improve my ball control for the upcoming match,” she added.
This morning, the Sarawak men’s triples lawn bowling team defeated their opponents from Johor with a score of 10-14.
The team, consisting of Awang Mohamad Sharszan Fyirman Awang Nasaruddin, Iskandar Hasbi, and Mohamad Amsyar Mohamad Amelin, will face the Kelantan team in a match scheduled for 130pm.
