SEOUL: The Sarawak and South Korea governments discussed various aspects of collaboration to enhance cooperation in the renewable energy sector.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who is on a two-day working visit to South Korea, had a meeting with the Korea Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) Deputy Minister Lee Hohyeon on the matter this morning.

Accompanying the Premier at the one-hour meeting were Minister for Utility and Communication Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi, Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr. Hazland Abang Hipni and Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Husain.

Later, in the afternoon the Premier and members of his entourage were brought on a conducted tour of the Korea South-East Power Company (KOEN) Yongheung power plant in the Yongheung island, south of the capital city, Seoul.
