KUCHING: The Sarawak government is now able to find out the tax revenue obtained by the state through its representative in the Inland Revenue Board (IRB).
Its chief executive officer Datuk Dr Nizom Sairi said through the representative from the Sarawak government namely the State Financial Secretary Datuk Seri Dr Wan Lizozman Wan Omar, the tax revenue obtained by the state will be known periodically.
According to him, this shows a step towards good cooperation between the IRB and the Sarawak government in ensuring taxpayer compliance and economic recovery in the country.
Nizom also shared about IRB operations in Sarawak and acknowledged that all parties have provided good cooperation.
“I also shared about IRB operations in Sarawak. Alhamdulilah, indeed we are getting good cooperation from the state government,” he said.
Nizom said this after paying a courtesy call on Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia, yesterday (April 5).
The inaugural visit was aimed at sharing information on the direct tax revenue obtained from Sarawak.
