KUCHING: Sarawak will determine its own standard operating procedures (SOPs) before deciding to open up its economic sectors via the conditional movement control order (CMCO).
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the state government was studying and considering the matter.
“Sarawak has to take into account the economy and health (of its people),” it said in a statement.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said in his special address in conjunction with Workers’ Day that the federal government would implement the CMCO with most economic and social activities allowed to resume this coming Monday, subject to certain SOPs and conditions.
Those that involved crowds and gatherings would not be permitted.
Meanwhile, the SDMC said that the committee would conduct active case detection (ACD) operations at Kampung Tabuan, here.
“This is to increase the detection of close contact cases in that area,” it said.
The ACD programme is implemented in two residential estates – Taman Uni Garden and Taman Desa Ilmu – in Kota Samarahan.
