KUCHING: The Social Welfare Council of Sarawak (SWCS) will be hosting a unique charity run at Saradise on June 30.
The event hosted by SWCS, in partnership with Miss C’s Boutique will be attended by popular singer-songwriter Rynn Lim, who is expected to launch the event at 6.30am.
Organising chairman, Chew Kim Soon said this charity run aims to celebrate the 75th anniversary of SWCS and support various social welfare-related activities through fundraising, such as seminars, lectures, awareness campaigns, workshops and youth training courses.
He said this charity run would create public awareness of the existence of SWCS and as an avenue for the public to understand its important role in Sarawak.
Main sponsor for the event, entrepreneur Zhung Yu Nan said she hopes to contribute generously to as many special groups within the society through Miss C’s Boutique corporate social responsibility.
“I would like to invite people from all walks of life to participate in this charity event. We look forward to your participation,” she said adding that she plan to use the proceeds from this event for the development of SWCS.

For the record, SWCS is a non-governmental organization consists of 45 voluntary welfare organisations in Sarawak, with the objective of promoting collaboration among members to drive collective impact.
