SIBU: A bus driver’s quick action managed to save an express bus from being destroyed in a fire at Sibu Bus Terminal today (Nov 12).
A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they received a distress call around 1.10pm and despatched firemen from Sungai Merah station to the scene.
It was reported that the fire involved the dashboard area at the driver’s seat and no injuries or casualties were reported.
The fire was successfully extinguished by the driver using two fire extinguishers before the team arrived.
The team took over the scene to make sure that the fire is completely put out before departing back to their station.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
