MIRI: In response to a devastating fire that occurred on Friday in Jalan Taman Futee, Senadin assemblyman Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin took swift action by organizing relief efforts for the families affected by the tragedy.

Upon receiving a report of the incident from Kapitan Jee Kee Hiong, Lee, along with the SUPP DUN N75 service team, immediately went to the scene and assessed the situation.

According to a press statement, “Six houses were destroyed, and 29 individuals have been displaced. Datuk Sri Lee coordinated relief efforts with the Welfare Department Miri and the Malaysian Red Crescent Miri branch to assist the victims.”

Due to prior commitments in Kuching on May 31, Datuk Seri Lee delegated Cr Jeffery Phang to distribute relief aid and food rations to the affected families. Cr Yap Siew Jin, Kapitan Jee, and the SUPP DUN N75 service team accompanied him, as stated in the press release.

During the distribution, Cr Jeffery Phang took the opportunity to assess the needs of the victims.

Additionally, Kapitan Jee emphasized the importance of house insurance and advocated for public awareness to mitigate financial burdens during such emergencies.
