KUCHING: Innovative works of final year students took centre stage at a showcase put up by the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Science (FECS) at Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus here.

The event on May 28 featured an array of year-long projects, an industry award ceremony, and a networking session.

Dean of FECS, Professor Su Hieng Tiong, welcomed over 200 attendees, including 28 industry guests to the showcase which boasted 121 projects from engineering, computing, and science disciplines.

The highlight was a plenary session by Chen Tzy Wen, Managing Director of Sunvision Engineering Sdn Bhd, who also presented industry awards to Perry Yang Tchie Hunn, Sze Xijie, and Ong Yu Xhin for the Most Innovative, Most Practical, and Best Implemented Projects, respectively.

Students engaged with industry leaders during networking sessions, discussing potential employment and collaborative ventures.

“University final year projects are not just academic endeavours; they’re testaments to creativity, innovation, and the relentless pursuit of knowledge,” said Chen.
