KUCHING: Swinburne Sarawak spikers marched into the finals after a commanding 2-0 victory over defending champions Curtin University.

The match was a hard-fought battle, with Swinburne narrowly winning the first set 25-22.

In the second set, they displayed exceptional skill and teamwork, cruising to a 25-16 victory to seal their spot in the final.

Swinburne will now face SIDMA College Sarawak in the final later today.

Captain Ho Zong Chun, who led the charge, expressed his joy at avenging last year’s semi-final defeat to the eventual champions.

“Last year was a close game, and today we finally got our revenge,” he told Sarawak Tribune today at Stadium Datuk Kawada.

The 22-year-old computer science student added that he was proud of his teammates’ performance and remained confident that they could win the final.

“I have complete confidence in my teammates, and I believe we can go all the way,” he said.

With the final just hours away, Swinburne is determined to clinch the championship and bring the title home.
