KUCHING: A collaboration has been forged between the Faculty of Business, Design, and Art of Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus and New Sarawak Tribune.
The primary objective of this partnership is to introduce a weekly editorial column in New Sarawak Tribune, enriched by the insights and expertise of the faculty academicians.
The faculty’s involvement will revolve around four prominent themes: Technology and Innovation, Sustainability, Global and Diversity, and Entrepreneurship, all thoughtfully aligned with the university’s direction.
The Faculty’s Associate Dean (Research and Development) Dr Voon Mung Ling underlined that the collaboration intends to not only elevate the university’s visibility among the public, but also solidify its presence within these core themes.
“We are committed in showing the public that as academicians, we are not only capable of dissecting current issues within these themes, but we can also contribute viable solutions.
“Apart from contributing articles, we are also looking forward to sharing our academic findings to forge a connection between academic insights and real-world applications.
“Through this, we hope to engage the public and industry players meaningfully while sparking new conversations,” she said during a courtesy visit to New Sarawak Tribune’s office at Metrocity yesterday.
Dr Voon further explained that the decision to partner with New Sarawak Tribune as the collaborative platform was driven by its potential to reach a broader audience across Sarawak, serving as a strategic advantage.
The editorial will involve a team of 56 esteemed academicians, each specialising in various fields, led by the Faculty’s Dean Professor Brian Wong Kee Mun.
The editorial column is set to kick off in September.
Also present during the courtesy visit were New Sarawak Tribune and Suara Sarawak chief executive officer Datuk Dr Jeniri Amir and New Sarawak Tribune Editor-in-Chief Aden Nagrace.
