KUCHING: The T-junction road near Hui Sing Community Hall will be widened to avoid traffic congestion during peak hours.
The matter was brought up to Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap by the residents, who have submitted an application for funding under Rural Transformation Projects (RTP) to widen the road.
Kota Sentosa state constituency service centre, in a statement yesterday, said the the application was approved by the Sarawak government for implementation by Kuching South City Council (MBKS). The approved project is for the sum of RM50,000.
Yap has also handed over the project to the selected contractor witnessed by MBKS Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng.
The assemblyman reminded MBKS and the contractor to ensure that adequate safety signs during the construction period are put up for the safety of the public.
“I also would like to request for patience and understanding from the public for any inconveniences for the duration of the construction period.
“I want to reassure the public that I shall continue to try my utmost best to solve problems systematically and efficiently based on needs and urgency,” he said.
