KUCHING: The second batch of the Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) Fundraising Accelerator (TFA) programme was launched through its TEGAS Digital Village (TDV).
Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, who is also the chairman of TEGAS, said the TFA programme is to accelerate the growth of local startups and social enterprises in line with the Sarawak Digital Economy Strategy 2030 and Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030).
“TEGAS will be partnering with Pitch Platforms Sdn Bhd (pitchIN) and MYStartup for the programme.
“pitchIN is Malaysia’s leading equity crowdfunding (ECF) platform, while MYStartup is a national project initiated by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI) and developed by Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd to improve the competitiveness of local startups towards achieving a Top 20 ranking in the Global Startup Ecosystem by 2030,” he said in a press release.
He added that TFA is specifically designed to help entrepreneurs with little or no experience in raising capital from external investors.
“Startup founders will be fully equipped with the right techniques to raise capital for their businesses, and it is a deep dive into learning about the technicalities of fundraising.
“Going into the second year of running the accelerator, we believe the programme could be a great avenue for local businesses to get into their best fundraising shape.”
TFA will run from Nov 7 to 10 at TDV, covering topics such as fundraising journeys and preparations, executing successful fundraising strategies and campaigns, and pitchIN assessments, among others.
Participants selected for the programme will enjoy mentoring and networking with industry experts, office hours, panel sessions and one-on-one sessions with seasoned entrepreneurs, access to startup support and benefits via MYStartup, and many more.
The programme is open to registered businesses with at least one Sarawakian co- founder and must be in operation for at least 12 months (with traction). To apply for the programme, visit bit.ly/tegasfa23
