KUALA LUMPUR: Tabung Haji (TH) has granted the Pengelola Jemaah Haji (PJH) licence to 25 local tourism companies, including its subsidiary Tabung Haji Travel and Service Sdn Bhd.

Executive director of TH, Datuk Seri Syed Saleh Syed Abdul Rahman said the appointment of these 25 PJH entities is part of the preparations for TH’s annual management of the 1445H Hajj Season.

“I emphasise the crucial need for all Islamic tourism companies to fully commit to preventing fraud in Hajj package services. Offering Hajj packages and managing Hajj services without a PJH licence is an offence, violating Section 27 of the Tabung Haji Act 1995, Act 535,” he said in a recent statement.

He added that, similar to previous years, TH wants to remind individuals or travel agencies offering Hajj package services without TH approval that legal action can be taken under the mentioned Act.

“Prospective Hajj pilgrims intending to perform Hajj through PJH are urged not to submit any deposit to companies without receiving a Hajj offer letter.

“TH hopes the public always take cautious steps to avoid incidents similar to previous years where Hajj pilgrims faced difficulties due to unlicenced companies offering Hajj services.

“As an additional reminder, Malaysians are advised to comply with the regulations of the Saudi Arabian government, performing Hajj using a Hajj visa and not a tourist visa, to ensure the safety of pilgrims throughout their stay in the Holy Land,” he added.

All PJH representatives at the event were briefed on the Terms and Conditions of the 1445H/2024 Hajj Season Package Services, and the list of licenced PJH can be checked on TH’s official website http://www.tabunghaji.gov.my
