DCM presents food packs to frontliners
KUCHING: Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and his wife Datuk Doreen Mayang today (June 2) presented food packs to various frontliners and enforcement teams on duty. These frontliners and enforcement teams were those on duty at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and the Covid-19 One Stop Centre (OSC) at Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Hall, as well as police personnel. “The gesture is in appreciation to all concerned for their important contributions in our fight against Covid-19. “It is also in view of the Gawai Dayak celebration,” said Uggah, who is also deputy chief minister. He presented 1,000 packs to frontliners at SGH, which were received by its director Dr Ngian Hie Ung. Earlier, he also presented 200 packs to those at the MBKS OSC and 100 packs to the police. Accompanying Uggah was Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian, who is also SDMC advisor.
Welfare body’s aid lifts burden of frontliners
