KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib on Sunday paid their last respects to the late Mohd Iskandar Abdullah at Tinggian Demak, Petra Jaya, Kuching.
The late Mohd Iskandar was the father of Datin Amar Fatimah Mohd Iskandar, the wife of State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker Datuk Amar Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar.
The late Mohd Iskandar Abdullah, 80, died in one of the private hospitals Sunday morning. He was laid to rest at the Samariang Muslim Cemetery, Petra Jaya after the Asar prayer.
Prior to his retirement from public services, Mohd Iskandar served as the Community Development Department (KEMAS) Director and member of Malaysian Public Services Commission. He also served as Resident of Sarikei, Sri Aman and Bintulu divisions.
