KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud presented various state awards and medals to 111 recipients on Wednesday (Jan 19).
The investiture ceremony took place at Dewan Besar, Astana Negeri in Petra Jaya here.
Leading the list of recipients were Meluan assemblyman Rolland Duat Jubin and Pelagus assemblyman Wilson Nyabong Ijang who received the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak, Johan Bintang Sarawak (JBS).
Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Harbhajan Singh Jagat Singh, Lau Khing Hung, Yong Leong Mew, Bit Surang, Ngadan Melintang and Dr Rita Manurung received the Johan Bintang Kenyalang (JBK).
The Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (Emas) (PPC) was presented to Chang Kuet Shian, Dr Yeo Tiong Chia, Prof Dr Ahmad Hata Rasit, John Wayne Chamberlin Sirau and Oswald Braken Tisen.
Ten persons received the Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS) award. Among them were Colonel Zamri Kamaruddin, Colonel Ahmad Hafizal Hashim and Milton Foo Tiang Wee.
Meanwhile, 13 others received the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK); 16 persons received the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (Perak) (PPB); Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS) (10), Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (ABK) (12); Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (Gangsa) (PPT) (13) and twelve received the Bentara Bintang Sarawak (BBS).
Present at the ceremony were Taib’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib, Assistant Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Assistant Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, Assistant Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Snowdan Lawan and Federal Secretary of Sarawak Datuk Amir Omar.
