KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib went on a two-day official visit to Brunei.
The visit was made to attend Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah’s 76th birthday celebration today.
They were welcomed upon arrival at Brunei International Airport on Thursday by Minister in Brunei Prime Minister’s Office Pehin Datuk Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Datuk Paduka Seri Awang Halbi Mohd Yussof and his wife.
Also lining up to greet and welcome them at the airport were the sultanate’s senior and high-ranking government officers.
During the visit, Tun Taib and his spouse also attended an investiture ceremony held at Istana Nurul Iman, in Bandar Seri Begawan this morning.
Also present were the Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Datuk Raja Reza Raja Zaib Shah and wife Datin Roslina Ismail; Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman bin Ismail and wife Datin Dayang Mainunah Awang Muhammad.
