KUCHING: The likely takeover of MASwings will usher in affordable air fares and cheaper air travel within Sarawak and later Malaysia.
Viewing it as a good move, Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) chairman Datuk Peter Minos said “Flying to Kuala Lumpur or Miri from Kuching can cost a fortune. It is simply too expensive and tough for the ordinary folk, and worse for the low-income group.
“Just imagine, flying by MASwings from Kuching to Miri and back for only RM200 or other destinations like Bintulu and Sibu for RM100 will make traveling affordable, life better and easier which is good for trading and business.”
Minos praised Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for making life easier and better by improving domestic transportation and traveling.
“These will lead to economic progress and prosperity for Sarawak, and it is the sunny sun shining in our beautiful state,” he said in a press statement here today.
He said this is a good start in preparing Sarawak for bigger things after embarking on new concepts and industries.
