KAPIT: The federal Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry has organised a talk entitled ‘Safety and Cleanliness of Premises for Tourists Accommodation’ for budget hotel operators in Kapit and Song districts in the conference room of the State Office Complex at Jalan Bleteh here recently.

The talk was given by Mirad from the ministry, Erwandy Tugor from the Fire and Rescue Department Kapit and Favian Masing Lintang from Kapit District Council.

The ministry’s state director, Suriya Charles Buas, who officiated at the function lauded the hotel operators for their presence and was hopeful that the awareness talk could help them prepare for the challenges to come.

“Kapit will be connected by road to the outside world soon and it will become a tourist attraction in the future with its many places of interest,” he said.

He called on budget hotel operators who have yet to register with the Malaysian Budget Hotel Association to do so for their own benefit.
