SARATOK: Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Agama Saratok here has set up a Taman Haji Mini.
Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri said the park stemmed from ideas given by teachers in the field of Islamic Education at the school.
“I understand that it aims to give early exposure to students about the Haj,” he said after the official opening of the park.
“This park is designed to resemble the atmosphere and main locations in the performance of the Haj such as the Kaaba, Safa Hill and Marwah, the throwing area and the place to spend the night in Muzdalifah.
“Through this park, students have the opportunity to learn and experience the practical experience the Haj visually and interactively.”
He said notes are pasted around the park to make it easier for students to get information related to the Haj.
“With the existence of Taman Haji Mini, it is hoped that students will not only understand the theory, but also be able to appreciate the beauty and wisdom behind the Haj,” he said.
The park was established through donations from individuals who wished to contribute to children’s education, including the assemblyman.
“Congratulations to the school, this is a very good effort. Hopefully it will benefit not only the school but also the surrounding residents,” he said.
