SELANGAU: A total sum of RM195,000 in Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) grants was distributed to 19 recipients in Tamin constituency.
Tamin assemblyman Christopher Gira Sambang said the recipients included 16 Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) around Selangau, the Selangau branch of Serakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS), the Munggu Lalang Volunteer Firefighters Association, and the Agro Sarawak Welfare Club.
Christopher expressed his hope that the allocation would be used wisely for the needs of JKKK activities, longhouses, associations, and their clubs.
“The state government under Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is truly committed to improving the living standards of the people in this state from time to time,” he said during the opening ceremony of JKKK Terabai Sekuau on Saturday (Nov 22) before handing over the RTP grants.
Christopher hoped that the public will continue to place their trust in the GPS-led government so that the agenda and efforts to upgrade rural life can be carried on as planned.
“All recipients should make the best use of this assistance for the overall development of the local community,” he added.
