KUCHING: A political secretary to the Chief Minister is unhappy with Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii.
Tan Kai said Dr Yii should have done his homework first before releasing a statement saying both boats from Sarawak had been released by Indonesian authorities.
The SUPP man told New Sarawak Tribune that the fishing boat SF1-66 detained on March 12 had not been released.
Only the tourist fishing boat QKH9393Z seized on March 13 had been released. It arrived at the Santubong Boat Club the following day.
Tan Kai said he wanted to know what kind of assurance was given by the Agriculture minister – why the boat that was detained on March 13 released and the one on March 12 still being held – since both were within Malaysian maritime boundary.
He said Dr Yii should question the Agriculture minister on what he had done to help release the other boat and its crew instead of just giving assurance to the public.
Tan Kai added that this only showed that Dr Yii did not do his homework and only painted a not-so-right picture of the whole scenario.
He hoped that the boat SF1-66 would be released soon.
