BINTULU: The Federation of Registered Chinese Associations (Forca) Bintulu, in collaboration with Resident’s office, Bintulu Development Authority(BDA) and Naim Paragon Bintulu, will be holding various activities in conjunction with the Bintulu Tang Lung Carnival from September 26 until October 1 at the vibrant Bintulu Naim Paragon shopping complex.

Meanwhile, according to the organising spokesman, the Bintulu Mural Art competition with the theme, “Present and Future of Bintulu” started on August 31 and ended on September 3.
The mural paintings are now open for public viewing and the public can now vote for the best painting.
Among the activities to be held in conjunction with the Tang Lung Carnival are the Bintulu Food Fair (Sept 26 to Oct 1), Multi-Racial Cultural Performance (Sept 26 to Oct 1), Bintulu Food Fair opening ceremony (Sept 26), Sarawak,Sabah & Brunei Singing Competition(Sept 26-27), Light on Ceremony on Sept 27, Borneo & Sarawak Lion Dance on Sept 28 and Hip Hop Dance competition on Sept 29.
On September 30, according to the President of Forca, Hii Toh Him, they are attempting to make it to the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) by coming up with the longest mooncake line in the country measuring 888 metres long.
Hii said the organisers were confident that with the support of the people around Bintulu, the record-breaking attempt and charity fundraising programme would succeed.
He revealed that six tonnes of raw materials would be used to produce the longest halal mooncake line.
“Our Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg has been invited to witness this record-breaking attempt at Naim Paragon Street Mall on Sept 30,” said Hii.
A total of 3,000 coupons are now on sale for charity at RM50 per coupon; the organisers hope to raise RM150,000 for eight charitable organisations in Bintulu.
The eight selected organisations are Kemena Life Care Society, The Salvation Army Bintulu, Malaysian Red Cresent Bintulu, Perpikat Bintulu, PDK Gemilang Bintulu, Pusat Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti Bintulu, Peryatim Bintulu and Methodist Children Home Bintulu.
On the same day, there will also be the Maju Sarawak Run 2017 and Tang Lung Harmony Ride.
The carnival will end with Uji Bakat Kanak-Kanak, a lantern making competition and a fireworks display on Oct 1.
