KUCHING: The State Health Department declared one new cluster in Samarahan District today.
The Tanjung Bundong Cluster is a community cluster detected in Kampung Tanjung Bundong Tradisi and Kampung Tanjung Bundong Lot Phase 1 and 2, Kota Samarahan.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said of the 41 individuals screened, 22 were positive for Covid-19, including the index case, while 19 were negative.
All positive cases were referred to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and admitted to PKRC under SGH for isolation and further treatment.
Conditional movement control order was enforced in the community from May 24 to June 6 to prevent further transmissions to neighbouring areas.
Sarawak now has 85 active clusters, with eight recording an additional 36 cases while 77 other clusters reported no new cases.
