PADAWAN: The Rural Water Supply Department and the Kuching Water Board are working hard to find the causes of reduced water volumes and water pressures in the villages of Puncak Borneo.

Division Engineer of the Rural Water Supply Department Awang Mohamad Ayatullah, in stating this, added, “The water supply problems in and around Puncak Borneo areas are due to several factors.

“These have caused the water pressure from the Kuching Water Board Booster Pump Station No.2 at Mile 10 to the villages to decrease,” he said when met while visiting Kampung Jambu with Mambong assemblyman Datuk Dr Jerip Susil.

The affected villages are Kampung Jambu, Kampung Karu, Kampung Sarig, Kampung Simpok, Kampung Tabuan Rabak, Kampung Sira, Kampung Gayu, Kampung Serumah, Kampung Krian, Kampung Peraya, Kampung Kawa Belimbing and Kampung Belimbing Islam.

Awang Mohamad revealed that the department would continue to deliver water by tankers to the affected villages until the problems were solved.
