KAKUS: The highly anticipated Tatau Festival is set to take place in the first and second week of August this year.
The festival, which is well known for its exciting activities and competitions, is expected to bring a significant economic boost to the local community.
According to Minister in the Premier’s Department Datuk John Sikie Tayai, an organising committee will be established to prepare for the event.
“It is hoped that the Tatau Festival is able to boost the economic revenue of the local residents throughout the duration of the event,” he said during a speech at the Kampung Dagang Tatau’s multi-purpose hall and Hari Raya gathering recently.
Sikie, who is also the Kakus assemblyman, stressed the importance of promoting prosperity and sustainable development within the district.
The multi-purpose hall, which serves as the primary venue for organising activities by the Kampung Dagang Village Development and Security Committee, underwent upgrades last year after its completion in 2019.
Tatau District officer Jabang Juntan and Tatau District Administrative officer Raden Azamry were also present along with other dignitaries.
