SONG: A teacher of a secondary school here was assaulted after he reprimanded a 15-year-old student for riding a motorcycle to the school without a valid driving licence.
Song district police chief DSP Rowney Michael Jalak said at 11.50am on Friday, the 26-year-old teacher saw a student riding a motorcycle in the school compound.
“He then told the student to stop doing it. However, the Form 3 student got agitated and started to assault him,” Rowney said.
The victim who was smaller than the student was floored in the assault.
As a result of the assault, the teacher suffered bruises on his lips and cuts on his head and fingers.
Rowney said the incident was witnessed by another teacher at the school.
The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for assault and causing injuries.
