MIRI: There is no denying the important role played by teachers in their students’ lives, said Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau.

He said teachers not only helped to shape the future of the younger generation but also supported the students’ academic development.

“Most importantly, they nurture the future generation into great leaders,” he said when officiating at SJK(C) Kee Tee Long Lama Teacher’s Day celebration at Long Lama on Sunday night.

He added that interactions between teachers and students were crucial in order to create a comfortable and safe learning environment.

“Students need to be nurtured at the early learning stage through adulthood, and the teachers’ guidance plays a crucial role in this process.

“There’s no denying that teachers have a role in shaping the students’ future. You are the builders of our future leaders of tomorrow,” he added.

Dennis also said that effective communication between parents and teachers was crucial in getting parents to be involved in their children’s learning process.
