SIBU: Teachers and staff of several primary schools in Sibu received back massagers from the presidents of Lions International 308-A2 Region 2 & Region 3 today.
The schools included SJK Chung Hua and SJK Methodist here.
The past District Governor of 308-A2, Datuk Betty Wong Yieng, who is the organising chairperson of the 60th Multiple District 308-A2 Lions Convention, said the massagers, sponsored by Past Lions international director Zhang Rui Tai, were supposed to be gifts from the 2020 Lions Convention to its delegates.
“Unfortunately, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in both 2020 and 2021, the convention couldn’t take place in Sibu, leaving these massagers unused.
“In a decision made by the presidents of Region 2 and Region 3 Lions Clubs, they decided to donate the massagers to a number of primary schools teachers and staff in Sibu, allowing them to use the devices to alleviate fatigue during work,” Wong added.
Among those present during the visits were Region 2 chairperson Dixon Chiu, Zone 5 chairperson Daniel Ling and organising chairman Augustine Ngu.
