BARIO: The forest fire that spread to an estimated 20ha area in Arul Telal nearby SMK Ulung Palang C on Friday has been put out.
Bomba air unit mobilised to the area at 10am yesterday helped to completely douse the fire.
According to Miri Fire and Rescue Department chief Supt Law Poh Kiong, other agencies also took part in the operation.
“Army and police personnel, as well as the Bario volunteer firefighters, assisted in the operation,” he said.
Swift action by volunteer firefighters in Bario on Friday night managed to prevent the fire from spreading.
