KUCHING: The TEDx Kenyalang programme will only be available and organised in urban areas, said Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.
“For youths in the rural areas, we have been organising roadshows such as Jelajah Belia Sarawak and Kawan Ku Sayang, Keluarga Ku Kenang.
“We need to understand that youths from rural and urban areas have different perspectives and, in this context, we need to really study certain issues of youth development seriously from different angles,” he explained.
He added that home-grown youth transformation programmes such as Kawan Ku Sayang, Keluarga Ku Kenang has been getting encouraging response from local youths.
Abdul Karim was answering questions from reporters after launching the TedX Kenyalang 2019 programme here at one of the leading hotels yesterday.
